A group of North Korean delegates in Hanoi for the Trump-Kim summit visited Ha Long Bay Wednesday morning.
Twenty delegates, including Deputy Foreign Affairs Ministers Ri Su Yong, Kim Pyong Hee and O Su Yong, Minister of People’s Armed Forces No Kwang Chol and Provincial Party Secretary of Gangwon Park Yong Nam, boarded a ship at the Tuan Chau International Passenger Port in Ha Long Wednesday morning.
They took a trip around the bay and had lunch on the five-star ship, together with Quang Ninh Province’s leaders.
The delegation was introduced to Quang Ninh’s long list of tourism spots, with Ha Long the major attraction, helping draw 5.2 million foreign tourists to the province last year.
Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO world heritage site since 1994, is one of Vietnam’s biggest tourism magnets where more than 1,500 islands and inlets popping up from emerald waters.
After touring the picturesque Ha Long Bay, the North Korea delegation left for Hai Phong City to visit the Vinfast car manufacturing facility, and went to the northern province of Hai Duong before returning to Hanoi.
North Korea leader Kim Jong-un and his high-ranking entourage arrived at the Dong Dang Railway Station in the northern province of Lang Son Tuesday morning on an armored train, after a more than 60-hour journey from Pyongyang.
Kim Jong-un is staying at Hanoi’s Melia Hotel.
He will meet U.S. President Donald Trump this evening and tomorrow, and then pay an official visit to Vietnam.
